About Marcel Genest, Vice-President and Sales Director

Armed with a solid technical training in architecture, Marcel Genest honed his skills in several architectural practices and interior finishing firms in the cities of Saint-Bruno, Saint-Hubert and Repentigny, before he discovered his passion for European-designed staircases while working for an Italian company. "The pure lines of these somewhat delicate looking riser-less staircases, built on a single central articulated stringer, were unheard of when we first introduced them in Québec. I was immediately seduced by staircase building, a fascinating world centered on finding simple solutions to complex design challenges".

Marcel shared this taste for innovation and quality projects with Michel Grondin, the founder of Escaliers Rive-Sud, then one of his customers. This was the basis of a true complicity and the reason he, quite naturally, joined ERS in 1999 as a Sales Consultant. There, he experienced the joy of working closely with the end user and a love of manual labour shared by the entire team.

Thirty years experience under his belt, and still having fun going from team management back to the drawing board to better serve his clientele.

As Vice-President and Sales Director, Marcel Genest is now considered a pillar of the ERS Team. Like all of his colleagues, he takes pride in a job well done and is instrumental to the climate of trust that clearly defines the company. Our staff knows very little turnover. Many of our installers have been with us from the very beginning and our long-standing customers know they can count on our reliability!
